I am from Findlay, OH. I chose Graphic Design at BGSU because I knew I wanted to go into the arts and graphic design really interested me. I had gotten a few recommendations in high school from former BGSU alumni to attend BGSU for their amazing design program. It’s hard to choose my favorite project because I truly enjoyed designing each one for different reasons. If I had to pick, I would choose my Oh, Honey! product packaging project because I really enjoyed creating the brand itself and designing fun corresponding labels and packaging presentation. I’m keeping an open mind about what I plan to do with my degree at the moment because I love all aspects of design, which makes it hard to choose to focus on just one. However, branding has a special place in my heart. I also can see myself becoming a freelance designer further into the future and utilizing my marketing minor in that way. One tip I have for future designers is Don’t be afraid to meet with your mentors and advisors! That is something I wish I had done more, especially during the online learning portion of the COVID-19 pandemic.

I’ve had paintings and design projects showcased in the 2020 BGSU Undergraduate Art Show, and my thesis project was showcased in the 2021 BGSU BFA Thesis Show. My “Historical Figure” poster and my “Countryside” painting had both won an Honorable Mention Award in the 2020 Undergrad Show. I also had two of my paintings recently exhibited in the President’s Suite Exhibition this year.
