MACKENNA WILLIS

I’m from Lorain, Ohio. A city smack dab in the middle of Cleveland and Sandusky. I chose graphic design because I was influenced by a multimedia vocational class I took in high school. I first started at my local community college to get my Associate of Arts degree, and while searching for universities to transfer to, the graphic design program at BGSU really stood out among the rest. My favorite project is Save A ‘Tan. Other than design, learning about animals and wildlife has been a huge part of my life since I was a little girl. Save A ‘Tan has easily become one of my favorite projects because of this and also helped me learn about what I can do to make a difference locally towards a social issue I’m passionate about. I would be ever grateful to work in a design firm or agency that specializes in branding and advertising using mixed mediums. I’ve also envisioned having a fun little freelance side job as well. A tip I have for others is: Surround yourself with designers and passions that inspire you. This really helped me figure out my style and who I wanted to be as a graphic designer.
