I am from Naperville, IL. I chose graphic design because I found I could do so much with it. There are so many different types of design ranging from branding, to marketing, advertising, package design, and to typography. I am never bored. BGSU’s program is also very good and after talking to an alum about the program and campus, I knew it would be a good fit for me. My favorite project is my rebrand of the company PWC. I enjoy many aspects of design, so this was a fun project for me. I was able to create multiple apps, a web page, booklet, and promo products. This was also the first project where I created a very comprehensive brand identity. The variety of assets I was able to work on over the course of this project definitely made it my favorite. I would like to work for either a creative agency or in a design department for a large company. I would like to work somewhere I am able to work on multiple projects at once so I am never bored and can continue learning. I am hoping for either an internship or a junior designer position. One tip I would give is keep designing and reworking your previous projects. No project is really ever done and as you grow as a designer, you will notice things that can be improved. Also, work on your own designs outside of class. It’s nice to take a break from class projects to focus on what you want to do, as well as they’re nice to have for your portfolio!
